30 November 2018Crowdfunding for the "Access for All" Project

The Project to construct an “Access for All” into St. Johns now [November 2018] has passed a significant milestone – the Building Fund has reached about 55% of the construction costs and associated fees.   The Team working on the Project has been re-structured as follows:  Peter Smith [Treasurer to Project], Malcolm Owen [Fundraiser in Chief], Penny Cooke [General Correspondence], Judith Strange & Stephanie Gall [Church Rooms management], Paul Passey [General Publicity].   PCC and Team members anticipate works being completed by Autumn 2019.   Donations to the Fund can be made either directly to Peter Smith, Malcolm Owen or online at: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/leslie-passey

26 November 2018Co-op Support for 'Access for All'

From St John’s ‘Access for All’ Team.

We are pleased to report that we are over halfway to raising the £72,000 we require to provide a level walkway to the South Porch of the church. Wide community support and a number of grants have brought us to this point and further grant applications and fundraising initiatives are in the pipeline.

One success is to be selected to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund. If you are a Co-op Member, with a blue Membership Card, you will be aware that 1% of your spend on Co-op branded products and services goes to nominated local charities. These charities are reviewed by the Co-op every year and the three selected for Axbridge for the coming year to October 2019 are the church’s ‘Access for All’ Project, Axbridge School PTA and a local Dog Charity. If you don’t specify one of these causes for your support then your 1% is spread thinly across all three. Alternatively, you can specify just one to receive your full 1%.

Through your association with the church, please consider allocating your full support to our ‘Access for All’ Project. You can do this by logging-in to your Co-op Membership Account and specifying ‘Access for All’ as your nominated local cause. Alternatively, you can phone the Co-op Membership Team on 0800 023 4708 to make ‘Access for All’ your selected local cause.

The amount we raise through this scheme may be relatively small but ‘every little helps’ towards the balance we need to ensure that our project will be completed by mid-2019.

With many thanks

St John’s PCC ‘Access for All’ Team
