There is limited 1 hour parking in The Square; note that this is regularly patrolled including on Sunday.  There are two car parks, in Old Church Road and Moorland Street, signposted from The Square.  If these are full there is normally on-street parking on Cheddar Road and Houlgate Way, about 5-10 minutes walk from the Church.

Accessibility

The Church does not have easy direct access because of the steps that lead up from The Square.  If you find steps difficult, the Church can be approached from Church Lane (1st on the left in St Mary's Street, but this is quite steep), from Chestnut Avenue (level) or from Back Lane.  There is a gently sloping walkway at the top of the steps from The Square which provides level access to the Church entrance.

The Church is mostly on a single level with single steps into the Lady Chapel, Choir, Chancel and Vestry.  Most services in the Nave use the nave altar.

The Church has a sound reinforcement system with a hearing loop.

The Church Rooms are opposite the church entrance, a few steps down from the top of the steps from The Square.  There isn't level access from the Church.

The ground floor of the Church Rooms has a meeting room leading to a toilet and a kitchen, all on a single level.  There is a steep flight of stairs leading to the Church Office.

Facilities

Just inside the Church is The Hub an open area with tables and comfy chairs that you are welcome to use.  If you consume food or drink, please take your containers when you leave - there isn't a waste bin in church (the nearest is in The Square).

The Church WiFi STJOHNSCHURCH password is NAVE+1636  There is good signal in the nave, less so in the east end of the church.

The toilet in the Church Rooms is available for services.  There are public toilets just off The Square in Moorland Street by the car park.

There is a collection Children's books and toys on a trolley in the Hub.  Please return when you've finished with them.
