The Parish Team

Our Priest in Charge is Revd. Alistair Forster.  You can contact him via the Church Office or on 01934 732040.

Our Assistant Priest was Ken Brown.  Ken passed away peacefully on 18 January.  We benefited greatly from his ministry and will miss him.

Our Lay Readers are Pam Williams and Peter Rutter.  Lay Readers lead services or parts of services.  Pam can be contacted on 01934 843772.

Our Churchwarden is Judith Strange.  She can be contacted on 07398 266543.  Judith works closely with Alistair and is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the church. The role has lots of aspects but generally involves anything to do with church life, governance, our buildings and our worship. Churchwardens work closely with Archdeacons, too.

The Benefice Safeguarding Officer is Julie Leader.  Julie has undertaken specialist training and is responsible for ensuring that anyone vulnerable is protected.  She works closely with the Diocesan Safeguarding Team.  Julie can be contacted on 07514 036134 or at j.c.leader@btinternet.com. Letters can be sent via the Church Office.  Out of hours, you can contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Team on 07834 514842.

Our Benefice Administrator is Aileen Mitchel, who also edits the monthly magazine, Catch This.  Aileen can be contacted as follows:

Overseeing the running of the church is the Parochial Church Council (PCC).  This is a group of people, elected by the church members, who volunteer to take responsibility for the day-to-day affairs of the church, such as the building, the finances, mission, etc.  They also send representatives to the Deanery Synod; this is the interface between the PCC and the diocese.  Our PCC Secretary is Penny Cooke, who can be contacted via the Church Office.

Our Sacristan is Mary Owen.  A Sacristan prepares the altar for each service, making sure that everything needed is there; for example,  if we're having a communion service, she will make sure the altar cloths are clean and that the bread and wine are there ready, along with everything else needed for a communion service.

Looking after our church finances is our Treasurer, Mike Lampkin.  He can be contacted via the Church Office.

A building wouldn't function without a Caretaker and ours is Andy Goddard, who also acts as Benefice Choir Administrator.  Please contact him via the Church Office.

You may have heard our wonderful church bells.  The bellringers are led by Tower Captain, Roy Shallish; contact him via the Church Office.

Our beautiful flowers are arranged by the Flower Arranging Team: Cesca Cavender, Penny Cooke, Pam Lukins, Shirley Rossor & Judith Strange.  There is always an opportunity to gift the flowers on the Oak Chest in memory of a loved one or to celebrate an anniversary/birthday. Sitting on the Oak Chest as they do, these special flowers are the first thing people see on entering the church.  Please contact the team via the Church Office.

There are lots of other groups who, behind the scenes, keep the church running: there are people who clean (the Holy Dusters!), who serve coffee after services, who do laundry and a myriad of other jobs.  They are just as important as the ones who are up front!

Our local Academy, the Wessex Learning Trust, oversees our schools.  Based at Kings of Wessex Academy, the Chaplain is Ruth Motion, who gives pastoral guidance to local Cheddar Valley schools.

Where contact details are not shown, please leave a message on the Church Office number.
